Safety, Commitment, and Community

Started in 2021, students with an idea of building and possibly operating their own glider brought the aviation community to San Diego State University. With no other clubs offering a space for the general aviation and aerospace engineering communities to get together, Aztec Aviators, previously named "Akaflieg" after flying clubs in Germany, quickly gained members. Eventually, we expanded into an organization serving everyone with an interest in aviation. With this came an expansion of what we do, such as the resource checkout service, study groups for exams, tours of various aviation-related facilities around the county, and various more aviation-related events, all aligned with our "Values worth Flying for": Safety, Commitment, and Community.
