Safety is Everything
Whether participating in a club meeting, hands-on volunteering, or social event, safety is always our first concern. It's important as a club to keep all events safe for the wellbeing of our members and to protect our standing as a Registered Student Organization.
Akaflieg's safety officer oversees all events and meetings to ensure compliance with the rules of San Diego State University as well as the County of San Diego. Here are some actions that we take to ensure we hold up this assertion:
Following fire code and SDSU rules and regulations at all times for all meetings and social events
Ensuring that all meetings are organized through the Event Planner and are known by the school
Teaching lessons and introducing habits that lead to better outcomes when club members individually involve themselves in aviation
Providing books and resources such as maps and plotters to allow for practice, improving the general knowledge of our members in regards to aviation-related activities
Ensuring that no activities disallowed by the school are conducted under the organization's supervision
We also expect safe and responsible conduct from the members of this organization:

Treating others with respect and notifying others of possible violations of any rules or guidelines
Reasonable attendance to meetings to keep in connection with the organization
